Situated very near the confluence of the Ohio and Scioto Rivers is a unique micro-brewery that makes some interesting beers. The River Star DIPA is a medium to dark IPA and gives a nice rich foamy head when poured. The taste is unique, made from Oregon hops, and lingers on the palate. The feeling is a good one.

This is a go to for me.
L - light copper with decent clarity and head retention.
S- caramel malts with some piney resinous notes shining through.
T- follows the nose. Sweet malts at first followed by a good hit of domestic hops. The low-key sweetness lingers throughout.
F- on the heavier end of a medium body.
Overall - it's not going to blow you away with dank hoppiness, yet is features just enough to balance the two row malt that persists. The 8% abv isn't obvious and this brew will sneak up on you because of that. It's not cheap ($11 per sixer) but it is worth the money. I've drank ALOT of ipa's and this one holds its own with the very best of them out there.

On tap at the brewery. On the darker side of the amber spectrum. The nose is dank hops, pine, citrus, and light fruit. The taste follows, with strong notes of big, dank pine and citrus dominating. Very little fruitiness to be found. Good balance if you like your IPAs pine-forward. Feel is ok, albeit a little watery. Good beer, regardless.

Love this beer. Only available on draft and the availability isn't set in stone.
