My 2nd sample at the Barrelhouse Brewfest. Let me start by saying I am a maple lover, a fanatic, and sample lots of maple products. I can generally tell when natural or artificial flavoring is used. I really enjoyed this beer.

It has a dark caramel color, so prepare for a malty, smooth ride. It does not disappoint. A great malty, caramel flavor that goes superbly with a maple-based beer. The maple taste comes in after the initial taste and continues developing into the aftertaste. It's the real deal. Maple syrup is expensive, hats off to Mault's for the idea. The beer has a nice nutty/maple finish, but does not at all come across as sweet or sugary.

Tasted at the Barrelhouse Brewing Company Microbrew Fest on November 9. Portsmouth (OH, not NH) Brewing was definitely the smallest microbrewer at the festival. This beer got points for originality. Poured a dark brown color with a thin beige head and good lacing. It had a sweet maple aroma and flavor and I found it very easy to drink.
