Clear pale yellow with plent of foam in the Kasteel chalice. Pleasingly fizzy on the tongue. Very light body. Aroma of something flowery, a bit of straw. Some very modest herbal taste with the fruitiness. No trace of bitterness
Flavor of crackers with a bit of lemon. Some warm grain with a little sweetness and the Malt-O-Meal cereal taste. This is quite subtle and light in all respects. It would make the ideal canned Saison for summer, but it's an interesting delicate flavored brew. From the 375 ml bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a light straw amber with a fine, three finger white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of grainy malt, farmhouse yeast, pear and apple juice; spicy and floral. Flavor follows, with mild grainy malt and fruit, light bitter herbs, a hint of pepper and lemon. Light to medium bodied with sharp carbonation. A somewhat laid back farmhouse ale with classic saison yeast and malt. Flavors seem a bit subdued, but well balanced which helps the stronger rose hip and calendula stay in the background and not dominate. This is a nice summery saison that made me wish it had a little more flavor depth. A pleasant accompaniment to dinner and refreshing.
