375ml bottle
Pours nearly 3 fingers of head into my stemless snifter. Extremely pillowy, creamy. Retention is ridiculous, after 5 minutes only the sides have begun to slightly fade. Huge amount of bubbles coming up, I don’t believe there is any etching on the bottom of this glass, so this is relevant. The body is just slightly darker than pale yellow, and a tiny bit cloudy. Overall looks very nice so far.
Nose starts off with a pretty prominent white grape presence, quickly leads to lovely notes of oak. Faint esters. Other lights fruit notes, melon. Floral, bright, mineral, slightly spice-y. A decent amount going on here, and it comes across very pleasant and inviting.
Nose hits with white grapes first. Esters hit towards the middle of the palate, faint bubblegum perhaps. Just slightly oaky. Finishes with a tangy sourness that is a little more prominent than I was expecting, though I wouldn’t go as far as to say this is a sour beer. Very nice flavor here, leaning a little more towards a sour than I would like, but it is good non the less.
Carbonation is solidly medium for beer with this much head and nucleation – impressive. A little sweetness in the middle, but definitely finishes dry with that sourness. Very light bodied. Mineral presence is negligible. This is a perfect mouthfeel for the style.
Drinkability is very high. Light bodied, refreshing, tasty.
The appearance turned out phenomenal. Lacing was thick all the way down the glass, and the head hung around in small fashion till the end.
Overall a really nice beer. Nose and flavor are both quite complex, and the beer all around is tasty and well put together.
