This is a thirst quenching lager with subtle hoppy characters, a touch of fresh fruitiness and a finish as crisp as a glacial wind - just the ticket for those long, hot Aussie summers.
Australian malted barley and malted wheat combine with hops from New Zealand, Australia and the USA to create a crisp, refreshing taste like no other.
We could tell you exactly how these ingredients are combined but our brewers would prefer to keep that to themselves. Adds to their mystique, supposedly.

Poured a clear pale golden amber colour with a thin white bubble head that diminished quickly and did not lace. Moderate carbonation. Aroma of sweet malt. Taste of sweet, malt and no bitterness. Light body. Not a nice brew.

pleasant and smooth. Beady caramel and grain husk come through but with no negative off flavors associated with poorly produced styles of this type. Hope bitterness is just right being very mild but enough to balance the malt profile which is shallow in itself but pleasing non-the-less.

A- Pale yellow in colour. A fine, delicate, and minimal stream of carbonation. Head is pure white and bold, quick to form but quick to dissipate. Lacing is very low to undetectable. A suitable example for this style.
S - Pale malt with a heavy foundation of wheat which gives off a citrus aspect the aroma which I find refreshing and suitable although perhaps not very subtle. Hop aroma is very mild but comes in the form of some floral variety.
T - Very pleasant and smooth. Beady caramel and grain husk come through but with no negative off flavors associated with poorly produced styles of this type. Hope bitterness is just right being very mild but enough to balance the malt profile which is shallow in itself but pleasing non-the-less. A tin-like sharp taste at the end very indicative of carbon dioxide or mineral water spoils what is otherwise a very enjoyable taste. Perhaps due to forced carbonation.
M - Mouthfeel is very pleasant, fine carbonation bites to the tongue without lingering and overpowering the delicate flavour profile of this beer. Drying on the tongue is slight due to a no doubt restricted hop addition.
O - This beer claims to beer a perfect Australian Larger. Crowd-brewed based on customer feedback. Its a common claim but one that fits the bill. This is certainly a fairly saturated and overworked beer style but this beer fits the bill and does what it claims. Its not a kick your socks of craft beer but it does provide a refreshing and east to drink beer in a style where mistake show and show big. A fine effort which I would quaff over the big boy Australian beers any day of the week.

Bottle: standard brown 330mL bottle, standard transluscent macro label.
Appearance: a clear pale gold, with limited carbonation and a bubbling head that drops to a patchy film almost immediately.
Aroma: mostly standard lager grains, with some citric tartness and some herbal or floral notes. Nothing special, but a teensy bit different to standard macro lagers.
Taste: again mothing mighty special, but slightly better than the cheap lagers. Some standard grain malts with a citric and floral hop over the top. Drinkable, but not special.
Aftertaste: a touch of those bittering hops comes through on the finish. Nice and crips.
Mouth feel: light in body with not quite enough carbonation. Feels as though the fine carbonation was intended to suit a quality ale, rather than an almost run-of-the-mill lager. Doesn't quite work.
Overall: a reasonable but not overwhelming lager. Not a bad price either at AU$50 a case, but I would really rather just spend my money on a case of VB or something.

330ml brown screw-top bottle. Tried directly after the 34.
Pours a very pale yellow colour, with good clarity. Head is significantly worse on this one than the last, initially bubbling up into a loose froth and then dissipating to a measly ring around the edge. No lace, almost no carbonation present either. Certainly much less impressive than the last one.
Nose is similar, but it has a slightly crisper edge than the 34. Plenty of vegetative sweetness still, and a touch of flour, but a hint of something lemony around the edges really seems to help it along a little. It's still not great, but it's passable.
Taste is lighter and cleaner, with a bit of mild citrus or a slight herbal bite. It's all still sitting above a rather bland malt presence that sits flat and empty underneath not either providing basis or offering much up on its own. Feel is flat and light, but unobtrusive.
Overall, I found this the better of the two, but both are extremely dull. This perhaps has a touch more lift to it, and while both do nothing to challenge your perceptions, neither of them is truly offensive or unpleasant to drink.
