I tried this at the brewery. It poured an opaque dark with thin white head that did not leave any lace. The scent had roast presence. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with roast and coffee presence. The mouthfeel is medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall this is a decent stout and definitely worth a try.

One of the blackest beers I've seen, with a tan round dome of a head on top.

This has a nutty aerated aroma to it. Nice nutty, roasted malt and almost coffee flavors as well.

Super fluffy, ultra creamy soft mouthfeel that a lot of brews at JAFB have. I really appreciate the ability to consistently develop this aesthetic in all these beers, it's really nice.

32 ounce growler
Served in a JAFB snifter

This beer pours black with an inch of mocha head that leaves little lacing.

The aroma is earthy and a little sweet with roasted malt and coffee notes.

There are big roasted malt flavors which include coffee and hints of chocolate.

Full, rich, creamy mouthfeel

This is another good beer from JAFB. This is my first full pour, and the sample I had at the bar did not do it justice even though I liked it.

This pours a dark brown to black with a large, fluffy, tan head. The nose is full of roasted chocolate, sweet caramel and touches of coffee. The first sip brings just what you're looking for in a stout; loads of chocolate, and caramel malts sit up front and are quickly overwhelmed by the perfect amount of bitterness. The finish is all bitter coffee and roasted malts and it lingers on the palate for a good amount of time after each sip. Simply put, it's a hit.

On tap at JAFB

This is flawless execution and another fantastic beer from JAFB.

T - my tasting notes desribe this as "stale cow pie meets unemployed chocolatier."

M - On point.

O - Another home run for JAFB. This is a must try and no question a "Gold Medal" in my book.

An excellent stout from JAFB in Wooster Ohio. Black opaque brew with tan tight beaded lacing head that clings to the side of the glass. Caramel and chocolate and toffee on the nose, deep roasted stout lovers dream come true. Excellent mouth feel with light bittering hops that fade into the background. Coffee, chocolate, caramel, toffee, up front and slight alcohol warmth in the back. If one has never been to this gem in Wooster Ohio I would highly suggest it. A plus from a diverse selection, although being a stout lover once I had this I asked for two growlers full. Smooth and delicious. Check them out, worth the trip. From cream ales to Belgians, they do justice to all the styles.
