Palate Contaminants: other beer
Color is dark orange. Murky, too. There's a lot more fine head than usual for the type. Good lacing.
Funky honey scent. Dig it. It's also got a candied fruits thing going for it, sorta like oranges or dates or bananas. Lots of hidden sweetness.
The first thing I get hit with is wild blackberries, then sweaty sock, then blackberry honey. What that sock is doing in there, I have no idea. The blackberry and blackberry honey flavors are so powerful that it's still a net positive. A little more astringency than I usually like has developed, too. Maybe I let it sit too long, I don't know. Whenever old-time processes are being used, things can go sideways. Count it as a super high sacrifice fly to the deepest center field in the league. Good, productive, but something is just slightly off with this attempt. AA hits enough home runs, though, I'll keep coming back.
Carbonation is medium and slightly prickly. Acidic berry aftertaste, with bits of dairy. It opens up the nostrils, in a good way.
