I hit up the Whetstone Station today with Artied2 for grub and grog. Opted for their newest home-grown offering, a black IPA. Served in a mason jar (14oz??) for $4.95.
Naturally, it was an opaque black, with a thin, wispy tan head which left a bit of lace arrears. Aroma was a bit restrained but roastyness and some florality was detected. Medium body, fairly smooth; nuf ced.
Flavor had a light touch of sweetness, but was mostly roasty and dry, with a solid amount of bitterness. I must emphasize how dry I found this; almost chalky on the palate. The roasty character was pleasurable, and a hint of rindy hops came at the finish. Decent stuff.
