Big place located right on the river, by the bridge. Rooftop patio for great views. Pub style menu. Busy for a Monday afternoon. Generic tap list, beer is just meh. One and done. Good service.

Great location right on the river. Parking is a pain. Good vibe inside, with plenty of energy. Food & drink are both good. Service is funky, as it's one of those places where you scan a QR code and then place your order on your phone. Basically, no formal wait service. Decent food options, and a solid selection of beer (including some to go options). The location alone makes this worth a visit.

Whether heading south from a camping/hiking trip or a ski trip, this is a staple stop for dinner. Beautiful location in a cool town, the food is stellar and the craft beer options are always extensive and top quality. What’s nice is that the trip doesn’t feel like it’s over until crossing that bridge after dinner into NH and then down into MA. Brattleboro is purely Vermont as Burlington is and whoever says otherwise is crazy.

This is a very nice place in a beautiful part of town and with about as nice of a setting as you could conjure up. Multiple floors, a kitchen, multiple bars, house-brewed and invited taps and packaged beer (of VERY respectable pedigree), what more could you ask for? Well, maybe an unparalleled view. It has that too with a prim location overlooking the Connecticut river with an excellent upstairs deck overlooking it. It appears to be open year round, but I can't personally vouch for that. the food we had (a decent variety) was all good to very good, I thought, and the beer selection can barely be beat. A very nice cross-section of styles, new things, classics, hype beasts, and more. Really well done. The service was not quite atrocious, but definitely bad. However, the setting and the rest of it was enough to definitely distract from that fact and seemed to maybe even play a role in distracting the employees, can't really blame 'em.

Cool spot by the river, just outside of town

Mid sized room with ample room for eating and relaxing...smaller outside space and comfortable bar with large windows...fine place to enjoy a few quality Vermont brews and watch the river flow.

Stopped in here for lunch on a recent road trip. Good selection of beers, both their own, and other craft beers.

We sat on the top deck with it's own bar and limited menu. Had a decent lunch. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Beautiful setting on the river in Brattleboro. Parking a challenge. It was raining so we did not take advantage of the outdoor seating.

Host was pleasant but a little distracted. Waiter was a bit more focused but we felt a bit inattentive - water was never refilled.

We both had burgers which were OK but nothing great. Kind of dry and lacking flavor. French fries were very good.

Quite frankly, the beer selection was pretty disappointing. I expected more local choices. The missus had a quad from Farnham and I had an IPA from Frost, but the local selections were pretty meager given where the location. One good feature is the prices were very clearly defined for the beers themselves and the different sizes.

Marginally good enough (food a bit iffy) for a quick lunch, but in our opinion not great.

Nice spot. Beautiful view of the river. Good pub food with vegetarian options. A lot of tap options with varying (and very specific) prices. Nice upstairs limited-menu area, too, if you want to avoid crowds.

Great beer selection. Whetstone goes out of its way to support local, Windham County breweries but also has a fantastic selection of Vermont beers. It is great at all times of the year including the roof deck with the hearth and inside during the cooler and bitter cold months. Great selection of beers and cider and the food is very good.

This brewery, bar and restaurant is in a newly renovated building that is beautifully constructed. It sits right on the VT/NH border which is on the Connecticut river. With surrounding patio, outdoor seating on the lower level, and amazing outdoor deck seating that couples as a small music venue. Excellent views of Wantadtiquet mountain and the river. The beer line up is extensive with 2 or three of their own offering, brewed on location and many guest taps, some from the finest in Vermont, like Hill Farmstead. The rare bottles are also impressive, service is usually warm, the place gets very busy as well. I've gone to see some excellent music on the upper back in the summer of 2016.

Been a go-to spot for me.

Decent spot both for food and beer. The beers on tap were quite good, but unfortunately the tap list itself was not particularly large. As such, you're subject to whatever's on tap at a given time.

Food was quite good and incredibly filling.

Neat place to go. Young crowd and a "go to" place. tough parking though but worth a walk if you can't find parking at the location. View of the river and hills across it are spectacular and fun. Food good, brews, theirs and others are good and one should be able to find a beer that one likes for sure.

We were in Brattleboro to pick up a dog we were adopting. We arrived early, so decided to have lunch at Whetstone Station. I'm very glad we did.
The building is situated on the Connecticut River, a scenic setting even in winter. Some trivia: part of the building is located in New Hampshire. It was busy on a Saturday afternoon. The interior has that industrial look. Lots of seating. The bar looks out over the river, and there is a deck beyond the bar. There is an upstairs outdoors beer garden. The deck was open (with heaters) when we were there, and the beer garden was closed.
Fairly extensive beer list. Four taps of their own, ten guest taps (a couple Hill Farmstead), 41 bottles/cans, and 26 special/cellared beers. I had Stoutastic, one of Whetstone's beers, and HF Harlan. My wife had a couple Oude Kriek Boon.
Service was impeccable, maybe the best I've had (thanks, Jackie). Friendly, informative, and efficient.
We had the vegan burgers, and they were excellent.
I would highly recommend this place. I'm just sorry it's 130 miles from me.

Came up to the restaurant during a trip. The restaurant has a cabin by the lake, or river in this case, feel. You go inside and there are tables to one's left, more tables one flight of stairs up, and a large rectangular bar. There were seats outside and, I believe, there is a beer garden in the upstairs. From our table inside, we had a spectacular view of the forests and the Connecticut River.

Our waitress was one of the nicest waiters I ever had and was always checking on us during our meal. Our appetizers, meal, and my beers were promptly served and checked on by her.

We decided to have pub chips for an appetizer, which were a very large portion for the two of us, and came with a unique dipping sauce. The menu had typical pub fare and entrees, but I did have the adventurous peanut butter and bacon burger, which was really good.

Although I was tempted to try the brewery's beers, I could not pass up some Hill Farmstead beers to drink. The beer menu seemed really good with Vermont brews and ciders like Hill Farmstead and Lost Nation with national beers like Rogue.

Overall, this is a fantastic pub on the Connecticut River one should try in the region.

We stopped here on a visit to Brattleboro. The cross street parking was quite convenient.
A wide swath of a bar, with open views of the Connecticut river are beautiful. The draft and bottle list were
full and varied, The menu although a bit pub centric had several options for everyone.
The service was excellent, while the place was busy.
A fine price to value here, the outside seating is inviting, we will return.
Cheers

Went here during a business trip on the night of 2/17, place seemed to be pretty jamming for a Wednesday night at about 5pm. Really great tap selection, 2 Hill Farmstead beers and a bunch of other VT related offerings. Solid for Brattleboro. They also had 4 beers on tap that they brewed on-site, but I didn't get a chance to try those.

Service was intermittent, not overly friendly but they got the job done on a busy night. Could have been more attentive. Had the Rodeo burger and really enjoyed it, food selection seemed good for the area, as well.

In the summer I think they have a back deck right on the Connecticut River which is sure to be a cool hang out spot, but in mid-February with temps in the upper 20s we opted for the warm inside.

In Brattleboro, where Vermont is. Town looks a lot nicer than I remember, although it’s been some time. Okay, I’ve only really been through a handful of times, most notably, the 4th of July weekend in ’85 when I drank legally in VT as an 18 year old, proudly offering up a paper non-photo NY state driver’s license and my freshman UNH school ID. Stop doing the math, kids, and get off my lawn…

Located on the Connecticut River at the bridge. Easy to find, impossible to park. Here, anyway. So we walked as those who do, do. In and through, as opposed to in and up, which is also an option. To the rear, an ‘L’ shaped bar with stainless steel panel riveted top, panel base and a foot bar squared; seating for a dozen and a half on swivelly stools. 10 taps on a stainless steel barbell tower and an upright boa constrictor tower for 4 alongside of it.

Barback is stainless steel countertop of the same with wine & taster glasses, and glassware shelved below. Large windows above overlooking the bridge and river. Liquor tiered on the ends and scotch bottles displayed on slight shelving in between the windows. Wrap around bar overhead with ceramic mug club mugs hooked to it and more from the overhang above the windows. Dead soldier guest tap handles and brewery swag above the windows and shirts on the far end displayed. Single filament bulb lantern lamps mounted, drop martini glass lamps tracing the bar, and track spots throughout the room.

Mostly beige walls, save the wood slat panel divider portions and far wall. Local art & framed pics of vintage motorcycles. Corrugated ceiling with large brown I beams, and concrete floorings. Bar counter divider off the bar and then seating; some 20 tables penned behind me and a few at the end of the bar. And more in a raised section around a center fireplace (Someone parked their bike up there). Mantel holds trophy play and there’s logo signage above. Boards to both sides talking music & loyalty program action, and views of the teeny 3.5bbl brew room up them stairs there. Step out the back side, 8 tables lining the wraparound deck over the river, partially under striped awning play.

4 house beers (Whetstoner Pale Ale, 4.5%, 40 IBU’s, Simcoe & Amarillo, pleasant enough; Don’t Worry Stout A Thing, 5%, nitro, chocolatey, light, sweet; Dog Days Pale Ale, 4.2%, 14 IBU’s, and kicked; Totally Rad-Ler German Style Radler, 2.5%, with Gus’ grapefruit soda & Whetstoner Pale Ale, very easy drinking). 4oz tasters run a big $1.80 each.

So, 4 beers up, two of which are Pale Ales (although one had kicked) and another is a blend with one of them, interesting. As a brewpub proper they would tank on ‘selection’, but ah, the guest taps, oh, the guest taps, hmmmn, the guest taps, yes, the guest taps. 10 of ‘em, a mix of in-state (Hill Farmstead Mosaic Pale Ale, Long Trail Private Label Brown Ale, 14th Star Tribute Double IPA), regional New England (Allagash White, Rising Tide Printemps, Smuttynose Clusters Last Stand, Berkshire Coffee Porter, Two Roads Old Factory Pils), a single import (Elgood’s Coolship #2), and a solo cider (Downeast Cider Original). Had a Hill Farmstead Mosaic Pale Ale (when in Vermont…), and then the Fiddlehead IPA, which replaced the 14th Star Tribute at juuuust the right time.

Bottles & cans, too. 20 of them, half of which are made up of 3 New England ciders, 6 Gluten Freebies, and an N/A. And then 15 cellar & special bottles (Cantillon Kriek, Hill Farmstead Dorothy, Bruery Tart of Darkness, Drie Fonteinen Oude Gueuze, St Feuilllen Tripel 3L bottle for $108, crooked Stave St Bretta & Surette Provision, Boon Framboise). It’s a nice list.

People next to me were getting their food on, so yeah, heeeey, what’s that? (me, pointing). ‘Grilled sirloin tips’, you say? I will have that. They were mad good. Had toyed with the chili as well as it sounded, no, ‘read’, really well (“Grilled steak with our own maple-char crust, baby back rib meat, beans and love”, does that not sound awesome?), but it would’ve buried me for the day and there’s a lot of day left. Phil went with the pierogis, which he deemed ‘pretty good’.

I’m being told that there is an upstairs with a different tap list. Ventured on up whistling loudly along with ‘Low Spark of High Heeled Boys’ playing; excellent acoustics in the stairwell and cool old B/W Brattleboro prints there. Hey, rooftop deck; a fire pit & a dozen tables overlooking the river, and a ‘U’ shaped copper topped bar seating a dozen and a half on the end. 14 taps up here, too, with little crossover from the main bar; we did better putting up downstairs.

Good crowd of adult regulars and people riding up. Little brewing system for play, or so it seems. I would have liked to have seen more of their wares, although I slummed it just fine with their guest taps. Caught a real good meal, too. I would do this again.
