The Wäldches Kirsch was served in a trappist style goblet. It was a very dark, black-cherry color, with very little foam. The aroma was strong and fruity (cherries, of course). The taste was sweet and full of cherries. Some malt came through, but mostly cherries. The mouthfeel was good and the carbonation was low. This was like drinking a sweet dessert wine. A waitress told me this was Berlin style beer. The web site mentions a Belgian influence in the use of fruit in the storage (lagering) tanks, and also mentions the Berliner Weisse styles which often are served with fruit syrups added to the beer. Not sure what this beer is under the cherries, but it was very tasty.
