The sixth release in our limited Legendary Series pays homage to the patron saint of Geel, Belgium, who devoted her life to helping the mentally ill. This classic Belgian-Style Tripel incorporates a touch of linden flowers, adding a subtle bouquet to the complex flavor. It’s strong yet light and full of conviction, like the fair Saint Dymphna.

served chilled from bomber to tulip.
A: slightly hazy marigold, a decent white foamy head with minimal retention, and some sticky lacing
S: sweet and floral, light malt/biscuit note. linden flower fully present. unmistakeable belgian.
T: follows the nose, with a bit of an earthy bitterness towards the end and a slight amount of booze hit. I've never had a brew with linden flower (that I know of) and it adds a floral complexity that sets it apart.
F: medium body, low carbonation, and a light booze heat.
bottomline (aka personal opinion time):
really good brew. the linden flower was a very pleasant surprise and makes this one stand out. I was a little surprised for how much of a booze presence there was in this one, but it only really becomes pronounced when the brew warms and starts to open up a bit - once it gets close to room temp this thing gets a little intense (with the earthy notes, booze, and lack of carbonation) so depending on your preference, keep that in mind. I usually enjoy letting brews open up a bit but this one I actually preferred while on the chilly side. my only real "complaint" here is the carbonation level, but it doesn't break it.

Poured into a Duval tulip. Produced a good inch plus head that receded to little lace. Solid Belgian nose and taste. Carbonation lacking, which is the only weakness here.

Another fantastic offering from Lakewood. True to the style, this Tripel is top notch. Lakewood does Belgian ales proud.
