Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a golden orange color with a tiny head of white foam. The head has a light level of retention, fading over time to leave a tiny bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strong of a grapefruit citrus smell mixed with some bready and orange smells. Along with these aromas comes a little bit of lemon and some pine as well.
Taste – The taste starts out with a drier cracker taste mixed with some hop of a grapefruit nature. As the taste advances a little bit of a lemon taste mixed with some orange sweetness joins in with the cracker taking on a slightly more bready flavor over time. In the end a little bit of grass and pine join the profile, leaving one with a somewhat crisp and rather decently citrusy taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the average to slightly thinner side for a pale ale with a carbonation level that is rather average. For the mix of cracker upfront, citrus hop and the transition of bready flavors at the end, the overall moderateness of the brew is nice and compliments the tastes rather well overall.
Overall – A rather tasty brew on the whole. It is balanced rather well with enough citrus hop to keep the taste interesting, all while maintaining a good easy drinking feel.
