Murky orange with thin foam.
Spice rack-y.
Herb and spice but too much so, needs tartness for my palate. Brett isn't bad but needs some counterpart.
Very clean but not too sharp, not unpleasant.

this is great beer, a brett saison, i had no idea these guys were doing this sort of thing, but they had a number of sour and funky beers on tap when we visited, far more diverse than i have known their stuff to be in the past. this one is super funky and mature, the brett is lambicus type i think, producing a little acid as well and a lot of iodine type medicinal funk, some farmy character too, very rustic but also so well refined. i was amazed how complex, lively, dry, and interesting this is, for a brewery no known for this style of beer. its got some straw and hay to it, a simple wheaty grain base, a touch of lighter floral honey in the middle, and with a belgian saison yeast ester too, some peppery character, and a dry bittering hop, just really well constructed and executed, the fermentation profile with this brett is awesome if you like them super funky, which i do, and there is an almost refreshing drinkability to it for a beer this nuanced, really just super impressive overall. this beer makes me thirsty for more like it from these guys, the brett profile is old worldy and exceptionally well done, and this was one of my favorite beers i had on a recent trip to seattle!

Rich crisp gold body the colour of apple juice. Tussled white head that starts at a full finger and settles in at maybe half that.
Nose is lightly sweet and tart with elements of lemon and green apple. Some sweet Belgian yeasts sitting undeneath the fresh green apple.
Really light on taste here. Faint notes of old lemon and some of the classic Belgian notes of banana and candi. Dull earthy bitterness that lingers faintly.
I'm intrigued by the label's intimation that with age this one will pick up some leather and tobacco notes, though probably not intrigued enough to pick up another bottle and test the theory out myself.
