Pint on tap at Vine St brewpub.
Appearance: color is a hazy yellow with a thin white head. Plenty of lacing on the glass.
Aroma: there is a lemony tartness and bready malts in the nose.
Mouthfeel: light to medium body with a somewhat damp finish.
Flavor: malt flavors are bread and hay. Some mild grassy but mostly lemony hop presence.
Overall: pleasant, easy drinking, paired very well with my meal of a burger and fries.

i really dont think this tastes a whole lot like traditional german kolsch, its heavier in grain build, more hoppy, and quite a bit more substantial on the whole. i like the beer a lot though, once i drop the kolsch expectations, i love the boldness of the flavoring. pale german type malts on it, but plenty of them, it seems definitely heavier and stronger than what i am used to in the style, more of an american pale or something. the hops are similarly dosed, more bitter than other kolsch types for sure, but it works really well here with the malt profile. crackery in grain flavor, maybe a pinch of pils too, medium bodied, dry as they come, and really very well carbonated. very refreshing brew, slammable, and quite approachable. sometimes the beers these guys do are heavy and filling and strong, hard to sit there all day, but this is a good interlude to that. absolutely not the most interesting beer on the menu here, but awfully enjoyable, especially with their wings, which have to rank among the best in our city (speaking of vine street).

Arrg, another beer from Mountain Sun that I plunked down $3.50 for only to leave half-drank on the table in hopes of finding something better.
Lots of rice-like adjunct flavors abound here, sulfury, strong vegetable grain influence. A strange sweet-corn flavor popped up in the middle.
Not even pretty in appearance.
