On tap at Vine St Pub during Stout Month; poured into a snifter.
Appearance- pitch black with a very thin light brown head that leaves little lacing!
Smell - dark roast coffee with just a hint of vanilla and oak from the barrel aging!
Taste - predominantly coffee, but with more vanilla, oak and rye whiskey than is present from the nose!
Feel - robust, big, but not too heavy and the booze is at an ideal level to sip and enjoy!
Overall - I’m a big fan of a hearty coffee stout and this is one of the better ones I’ve had in a while!

Heaven Hill Rye barrels were used this year instead of bourbon like in years past. Less barrel flavor than prior version and more coffee. Still tasty and smooth.
