On tap up at the Mountain Sun brewpub in Boulder. Poured a nice coppery color, with a good tan head on top. Aromas of cloves, coriander and granny smith apples. On the palate, drinkable, crisp, medium-bodied with flavors of brown spices, green apples, citrus and yeast. A decent beverage, but nothing really special going on here.

A first of the 4 Virtues Series at Mountain sun, and their first Belgian style ale.
Nice golden, slightly hazed pour. Head is perfect, strong and manageable.
A golden apple aroma up front, followed with some clove, coriander and banana. Orange peel perhaps.
Citrus quick start in the taste. Has a slick, sweet malt backbone off of which the coriander, clove and thyme(?) grow. Hops add the crispness and the carbonation cleanses everything off the palate.
Dry finish and a darn good beer.

On-tap at Vine Street Pub in Denver, CO. Served in a snifter.
A: Extremely cloudy pale amber. A rocky off-white head has decent retention and leaves a coating lace.
S: A heavy dose of citrus assaults the nostrils. There's a bit of clove and a pear sweetness in the background.
T: Starts with a pear sweetness that's quickly replaced by a spicy bitterness. The bitterness carries little of the citrus present in the beer's nose. The beer finishes with a lingering clove bitterness and a mild alcohol warmth.
M: The medium body has prickly carbonation that's just about right for this style.
D: This was a nice offering from Mountain Sun. There were a lot of Belgian guest beers at Vine Street the night I had it. Temperance fit right into the mix.
