A - Rusty...dark red, slight browness
S - Slightly floral, very little detection of malts
T - a bit bright, some maltiness, but not enough for a good Dubbel. It is on tap however---being bottled with some on it would make this something worth revisiting.
M - Good
O - Average with some potential. It lacks the presence of mealtimes I expect with a Dubbel.

2011. Snifter, reviewed from notes.
A: Pours a dark brown raisin color with a finger of light tan head that quickly faded into a faint collar. Bad head retention for a dubbel.
S: Sweet smelling with notes of dark fruits, caramel, and sugar.
T: I get notes of doughy yeast, caramel, brown sugar, dark fruits, apples and a bit of tobacco in the aftertaste. Very sweet overall.
M: Tingly, fizzy, carbonation, thin body, light mouthfeel.
O: Too thin, fizzy and sweet for me to love it, and not very complex or Belgian-like. Not a terrible beer as a beer though, just needs some work. Average to slightly below average.

On tap at the Vine Street Pub and server in a tulip (or was it a snifter?). Dark reddish brown with a scant head. Smells spicy and a little wine-like but i get that from dubbels for some odd reason. The flavor was nice, a bit of raisins and a hint of astringency from the alcohol. Overall, not too shabby and I'd probably order another one if I saw it again.

After Jazz in the Park I hoof on over to Vine St. Pub for the goodness. Found this one on tap
Dark, bright ruby red bordering on brown. Nice looking head with an off-white, kinda reddish foam.
Aroma wasn't all that powerful. Tough to get a handle on it. Orchard fruit and sweet bread. Toffee perhaps, a bit earthy
A sweeter taste than the aroma suggests. Sweet apple juice, like a watered down cider. Bulked up by sweet bread and caramel. A bit spicy in the middle; some clove and slight banana bread.
