Described to me as a hoppy stout, I drooled and then ordered one.

Black pour. No head because she filled it to the rim. Fine with me. Lacing is solid, a bit thin at first.

Sharp aroma of cocoa and toffee. Hints of green grass and brown pine. Not all that intense, but you can tell it's a stout and not a American Black Ale...

And the flavor proves it. The hops are there and provide bite. They are more earthy and complement the cocoa and coffee. As it warmed the hops became more supportive to the earth flavors. Pine turned more into grass and the dark chocolate jumped out. Flavors didn't last as long as the bite, which cleansed the palate nicely
