On tap at Vine Street Pub. Poured into a goblet.
Apperance - Fantastic! Black as a stout, light brown head. Plenty of lacing.
Smell - Surprisingly floral, some traces of citrus, grass and pine. Wonderful!
Taste - Hop forward, but with some hints of roasted coffee bean.
Feel - Plenty of hop bitterness, but very balanced with the darker tones!
Overall - An excellent black IPA and one of my favorite Mountain Sun brews; doesn't match up with Sublimely or Wookey Jack in the black IPA category, but an excellent beer!!!

an absolutely outstanding glass of beer, best ive had of this genre in a long long time. rich almost midnight black in color, just brown tinted, real deep, with a luscious inch of easily excitable light brown head, lacey, lasting, and creamy as anything. hoppy nose accentuates the bitter barley, dark roast on this. not quite smoky, chocolate notes, semisweet too. the flavor is woody and bitter, the hops are aggressive, but the dry bitter almost burnt barley adds complexity. cocoa flavors move in towards the finish, as does a marshmallow sweetness that challenges the hops. rich deep complex beer here, a total winner. creamy decadent feel, smooth and coating everything it touches, but still drinkable too. a very very impressive offering worth seeking out for lovers of this blossoming style.
