Our Harvest Ale imparts all of the chocolate and roasted nut flavors of a classic porter, with a Barrelhouse twist…we add fresh vanilla beans, local, organic spices and fresh roasted pumpkins for a roasty, spicy, vanilla porter experience. As the vines covering our hills turn yellow and our days begin to get shorter, this Harvest Ale celebrates the season with spiciness and warmth.

7.5% ABV per the label.
Pours an almost opaque super dark crimson-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, earth, and pumpkin pie spice aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa powder, earth, char, and burnt spice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast and spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with an aroma that is spice forward, while the flavors are more earth and roast forward to me.
Serving type: bottle.

On tap at BC's Pizza and Beer
A: Pours dark brown with a slight reddish hue and a khaki head that laces nicely.
S: Sweet roasted malt and vanilla, with some spice notes.
T: Dark roasted malt up front with a touch of bittersweet chocolate and light coffee, complimented with sweet vanilla, as well as some nutmeg, clove, and faint cinnamon spice. There are also some light floral notes, and a bitterness on the back end that is slightly coffee/chocolate, but probably partially from the roasted pumpkin used in this beer. The sweetness and spice come out more as it warms.
M: Medium body, quite smooth, creamy at times, with the right amount of carbonation to keep it from being too thick and heavy.
O: I dig this as a fall beer. Plenty of roasty goodness, the right amount of sweetness and spice, but still very drinkable.
