May 21st, 2016 - The last beer at today's San Diego beer fest is the Elder Flower brew from Barrel House. A delicate and wan blonde color, there's nothing wan about the aroma, with practically gyrates with funk, and jigs with coriander and white pepper. The acidity also feels like a pickling juice, which I like, but a little more floral and subtle. The flavor is of...pickled flowers? Like a fancy pickling vinegar with IKEA's drynkenflatter juice, and while that sounds odd, it's actually quite good and bright, especially after all of today's festival beers.
