Here comes my first review of the 2018 Bistro Barrel Aged Festival. This was the first beer I had of the day, and it was definitely the prettiest. Came in 2nd place in my overall voting. Pours a bright pink and light red, just like the raspberry puts out, small white-ish head on it, 1/4" deep. Aroma was raspberry and super clean, didn't put down effects of wood or funk.
Taste was enjoyable, nice presentable acidity, boatloads of raspberry to it. Might be kettle soured, and if it is, its a world class kettle sour. I only say kettle sour because there was no wood, funk or otherwise, its just a very clean enjoyable beer. Had possibly just a very light time in wood, who knows. But the sourness was a 6 on the 10pt scale, the acidity was a 6 also. Body was light, hid abv just fine. Was a great beer to start the festival off with. Very simple and delicious.
