Can poured into a Bell's Brewery snifter
A: Pours dark mahogany brown, nearly black, with a frothy tan head that settles to a light layer and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Roasted malt, coffee, a bit earthy, a little chocolate, brown sugar, maple, vanilla, and a hint of coconut.
T: Roasty, smooth coffee, dark chocolate, maple, vanilla, brown sugar sweetness, a bit earthy, subtle hints of char, and a little coconut on the back end.
M: Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, slightly creamy, can get a little sticky.
O: For an imperial stout with adjuncts, it's solid, but probably won't blow you away. It's got enough bitterness to counter the sweetness and keep it from getting syrupy, I wouldn't mind the coconut coming through a bit stronger. My biggest gripe is that since its inception, Curly Wolf has always been barrel aged. Last year they added coffee, now this year they kept the coffee but ditched the barrels. I can only imagine what that last step would have added when combined with coconut.
