i thought this was pretty rough, must have been the end of the keg or something, it was sedimented looking, sort of chalky feeling, more brown than black, really under carbonated, seemingly not all the way fermented, and frankly too poorly refined overall to not be some kind of mistake or error based on the quality of the rest of the beers we had in here on our recent visit. a shame too, because the rest of our experience was great, theyve done a lot to this place since i was in many years ago. murky brown, no head at all, and leggy suggesting a lot of residual sugar, doesnt look clean. the nose and taste are chocolate forward, some appealing and robust middle malt layers, lighter on the roast overall that a lot of these but still with a hint of good espresso and its crema, but it also is brown sugary and worty the whole way, long boiled and overly rich almost like a dark barleywine despite the low alcohol, and there is a cola or root beer thing i cant get past, and there is some astringency here too. it stays on my palate forever, and really is a total mess, lacking bubbles, attention to detail, and any kind of drinkability. easily the worst beer we had in here, had a hard time getting through a single pint. what happened here?

Dark brown appearance with a tan head that recedes slowly, good retention, decent lacing. Chocolate, biscuit notes. Medium thick body, moderate to mild carbonation.

On tap at Druthers Brewing Company in Saratoga, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark brown, nearly black color, with a small white head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like roasted malt, some light smoke, oats, and dark chocolate.
This is solid enough, if maybe a little bit uninspiring. It pretty much hits all of the notes you expect. There's lots of roast, a touch of dark chocolate and smoke, and no real noticeable hop character.
This is medium bodied, creamy, and very drinkable overall.
This isn't the best oatmeal stout that I've ever had, but it was still worth an order.
