Founded in 1901 on The Bluff overlooking the Willamette River, the University of Portland has etched its legacy into the Rose City's history. University alumnus Steve Waters, owner of Backwoods Brewing, has created Pilot Lager in homage to the University's lasting and continued impact. The golden elixir echoes the Willamette River's gentle current, and each sip encapsulates the thrill of sailing towards victory. Professional athletes, business leaders, innovators, politicians, nurses, engineers, educators, entrainers and ethicists have donned the historic Purple and now alumni, fans and friends can make more memories while enjoying a perfectly crafted tribute brew in their honor.

This beer pours a semi-clear light golden color with a small head that dissipates rather quickly. The aroma is sweet malt. The taste is pretty much like all the middle of the road lagers. This beer is decent but nothing special. BOD 2-24-2024 Rated 7-1-2024
