DuckRam is a collaboration Baltic Porter that Rushing Duck did with Ramstein Brewing from NJ featuring Ramstein's lager yeast. Two breweries that I really enjoy coming together!!!!

Appearance: 3.75 64oz growler pours the deepest brown to black with a 1 finger khaki crown that shows little retention and no lace. Decent clarity for a brew with lots of dark malts.

Smell: 4.25 Nice medium peat smoked note taking center stage, with supporting biscuit, bread, and grainy malt notes. A hint of higher alcohols and green apple. The lager yeast seems to add a tiny wisp of clove phenolic although that might just be my imagination.

Taste: 3.5 Almost a reversal of the nose in that the higher alcohols and apple come out on top trumping the malt.

Mouthfeel: 3.5 Medium bodied with medium to low carbonation. Lacks the crispness and the chewiness of a well lagered beer.

Overall: 3.75 The nose is truly hypnotizing and the peat smoked malt masterfully integrated. It's rare that I enjoy the addition of peat smoked malt, but this aspect of the brew is done well. The beer just seems a bit green to me though.
