This was a nice lunch lager and a good value at less than .75 Euro. Bought at an Aldi's in Madrid's Chamartin district.
While Sagra Looks like it could have more foam and bubbles, its Smells are better and about average. I get hints of tart apple, not typical of lagers. Tastes are more balanced than the average Czech pils, with the hops playing a supportive role instead of a dominant role. Light mouthed.

My first from Sagra, I went on their website and couldn't find the English button. (But there is supposed to be a "Translation Available", but that also escaped this techno-phobe.) Anyhow, Sagra has a sophisticated website with lots of videos to watch and lots of skilled graphics and photos. So I got the idea, just not the details. One detail is Bohemia won a WBA. If I were to stay in Spain longer, I'd get to know Sagra better. So for all that, I give Sagra very good Overall Hugs.

€0,78 @ Carrefour, Madrid, ES

Notes: Labeled at Alc. 5,2% vol.
Look: A short head of white foam caps a clear golden body that displays larger, quick rising bubbles. Limited head retention and lacing.
Smell: The aroma is fruity with apple over grainy malt. There’s something unusual as well but it’s not exactly off-putting.
Taste: The apple found in the aroma returns with more of a fallen apple character, and there appears to be some amount of oxidation to it. The malt is lightly sweet and grainy, balanced by a medium but edgy bitterness that leads to a dry finish with a rough bitterness left lingering.
Feel: Medium bodied and crisp.
Overall: The beer is 100% malt and utilizes real hops rather than extract but it suffers from poor production procedures.

Bottle at Las Buenas Pulgas, served in a standard glass. Golden color, medium head with long retention, good lacing. Aroma of grains, bread, hops, some spice that I can't identify now. Medium body, silky texture, good carbonation. Taste follows the aroma, with some more sourness. Good.
