Purchased shortly after release date. Poured into tulip glass. It pours a murky, amber-orange color with an enormous, foamy, milk-white head and extensive lacing that retained its impressive stature through the pour. The smell is pure tripel: banana, lemon, clove, and coriander with a whiff of the sweet apricots. The apricot and banana are present in the initial taste and add a nice sweetness. At mid-taste there is lots of spice: clove, coriander, and black pepper. The finish has a pleasant touch of hoppy bitterness along with the pepper. As expected, it features lively carbonation and its 9% ABV gives substance without being overly boozy. Overall, it is a well-made and tasty Tripel. Bolero Snort has proven deft at brewing Belgians, both the Tripel and the Quad. I didn't rate this one as highly as the original Le Taureau because it's sweeter and I prefer a dryer example of the style. Still, it's very good!
