Near black color. No light passes. Small head which ends up being rim bubbles. No lace.
Coffee and burnt malt dominate the smell. In the background is semisweet chocolate.
The taste is far more chocolate oriented--definitely a Porter on the tongue. Full bodied with a below average effervescence. The finish is a nice blend of coffee and chocolate.
