Ale brewed with peach, strawberry, blueberry, and merlot grape juice. (Why do I get the feeling I'm going to be tasting that last one the most?) Poured from a can into an Upland tulip. It's a hazy pour, light purple in color, and it sports a solid 2-finger head with good retention. On the nose I get a bit of lightly-toasted malt, a whiff of hops, and a fair amount of grape juice.
Medium-light body with a firm feel and an odd flavor. Up front it tastes like a light lager, then at mid-palate I get some of the strawberry and blueberry. Near the back of the palate the grape juice comes in and you get mild tannins with it, creating an odd effect. Finishes with flavors of grape juice.
Overall, a disappointing beer. The fruit flavors that are there are not well-integrated with the beer at all and the grape juice doesn't complement it well either. It tastes like someone took a Helles Lager, dumped a little fruit in there, and then mixed it with grape juice. Sorry if I sould like a sourpuss, but I've been drinking some outstanding fruited beers lately from places like Streetside and Sonder so I guess I'm spoiled.
