A spicy, higher alcohol beer, it is meant to be enjoyed around that chilly time of year, but is also a great sipping beer for any occasion. Awarded a silver medal at the 2014 Florida Beer Championships, the name “Dunder and Blixen,” translates in Dutch to “Thunder and Lightning.”

On tap at Oak and Stone. It's a nice entry into the winter warmer arena, but it didn't knock my socks off. The malt is big, and the mellow spices seem to highlight some nutmeg. Doesn't taste as boozy as it could, given the ABV.

16 oz can from Florida. Undated but very likely produced for winter 2019-2020.
Spicy but not over spiced, perhaps excepting nutmeg, in a rich malty base.

I like the can artwork. There are some bold spices attacking my palate with a mild orange peel note as well as some malts. The 8.8% abv is hidden well. It's not too bad I recommend it if you can get this beer in your area. Cheers! B
