On-tap at Big Storm Brewing Co., Clearwater, FL
A: The beer is jet black in color—only faint traces of dark red are visible near the edges of the glass when it is held up to a bright light. It poured with a narrow ring of tan bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of chocolate and roasted espresso beans are present in the nose.
T: The taste is mostly filled with flavors of chocolate and notes of roasted espresso beans, the latter of which lingers into the finish.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: For an 11.4% beer, it seems like this could have had a little stronger and more interesting flavors. It definitely tastes strong, but no alcohol was really perceptible.
