L: light brown, off white head, nice lacing
S: some spices, some vanilla
T: hints of vanilla and a little bit of spices
F: should be fuller bodied
O: a friend of mine raved about this, which makes me a little disappointed, this is very unremarkable

16 oz can with a 19 October 2020 canning date stamped on the bottom.
Pours with an attractive, clear, reddish-brown body that is topped bya decent white head. I was surprised (but not disappointed) that an ale called "White Blaze" is this dark.
This has an odd spicing combination that gives hints of spices tea and vanilla.
Mouthfeel. Very smooth with medium body, near medium carbonation and a lightly oily finish.

my first ever beer from these guys, a tasty can, fully wintery even as spring nears, its cozy to me, familiar, and really very good. i dont care for the name, and the can is pretty ugly, but the beer inside is delightful, a pleasant surprise really. a deep amber to light brown color, huge head and not a ton of body, lighter than expected i think, really effervescent too which is cool in a style that usually feels heavy. notes of coca and cinnamon for sure in aroma and flavor, dry cocoa, like bitter, for baking, and the not overdone cinnamon. its wintery and beautiful, not sure what else is in here, maybe some clove, citrus peel, but cocoa and cinnamon lead the way for sure. i love the baked malt sweetness in here, but the way its kind of more balanced and dry on the finish, nowhere near as sugary as most of these, and thus more drinkable. i also really like it not being so strong, its winter warmer flavors in a beer i can have several of, so i appreciate that here too. a rather complex nightcap, a neat use of familiar ingredients in a new kind of way, and really a neat take on the style. nicely done.

Look: It pours amber with some orange and an off white head. Head retention is moderate.

Smell: It has sweet aromas of cherries and candy like notes. There are some notes of apple, grainy sweetness, and cinnamon.

Taste: There are flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, and other spices. There are also apple like flavors with some cherry and grainy sweet malt.

Feel: It has a moderate feel with low bitterness.

Overall, it is an extremely spicy beer with many holiday spices mixed in.

Poured into a Dogfish traditional oversized snifter. Bottom of can says Canned On: 11/??

A- Pours a dark amber color with a 1/2 inch light tan head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of sheer surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a thick solid ring behind.

S- Moderate winter spices like cardamom and nutmeg with a bit of toasty malt presence.

T- Taste is quite a bit sweeter than the aroma lets on. Pretty close to the melange of spices Cold Mountain is known for but a bit more pronounced and cohesive here within the malt construct. Slight hop bitterness on the back end.

M- Somewhat soft with medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the fuller side.

O- A pleasant winter warmer that brings the spice element while also being restrained in both the sweetness and intensity of flavor.

Crisp and refreshing. For a winter ale, this defines the taste and fee of an ale brew. Though the "nutty malt" taste is not too apparent this has become a fast favorite of mine for a crisp refreshing break.
