COD 1/24/17. Light amber pour with a small dose of ruby. Outstanding head volume, slightly below normal retention and lacing.
Light nose of subtle coffee, a light biscuit sweetness and the thinnest hint of cherry.
Medium light body, similar to water while significantly more viscous, but appropriate for the style. World class carbonation / body balance. A strong effervescence arrives in the middle, ebbs, then explodes into a rollicking finely bubbled prickly finish. Flavors are really allowed to pop.
The flavor profile is quite outstanding and a nice twist to the blonde ale style. It begins as a pleasant blend of flavors that begin to separate as the middle approaches. The first sensation is a sharp cracker crispness that is a bit tart. This yields to light coffee, which in turn ebbs and allows a light biscuit sweetness to emerge underneath. This sweetness forms the base for the cherry flavor to emerge, although it is a bit weak. The finish is a smooth fade of slightly sweet coffee and cherry.

A: Pours a very hazy, approaching cloudy medium to dark golden honey in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint amber + copper highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense foamy beige head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of cracker + pale malts with a light hint of sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate aromas of coffee and light aromas of tart cherries.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of cracker + pale malts with minimal amounts of sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of cold brew coffee and light to moderate flavors of slightly sweet, slightly tart cherries. Hints of floral + earthy hops towards the finish with a light to moderate amount of lingering roasty/coffee bitterness.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.
O: An interesting beer - cherry + coffee in a blonde ale - but a successful one that is enjoyable. Easy to drink but not sure that I would want to have multiple of these in a session because the flavors linger for a while. Definitely will look to get this one again when I find it again.

Poured into an Ommegang stemmed glass. Bottom of can says Canned On: 6/30/16.
A- Pours a hazy medium amber color with a full inch of off-white head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a half sheet of sheer surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves large clots behind.
S- Interesting aroma of crackery malt, mild coffee and some spice characteristic I wasn't expecting.
T- Bright cherry sweetness with the coffee coming in mid-palate and finishing with more cherry sweetness. The cherry tastes natural, like maybe bing. The coffee is really just there for balance to keep the sweetness in check. Grainy malt backing.
M- Somewhat crisp with medium carbonation and a lightish body.
O- Very easy to drink. A pint of this is nice but I wouldn't have more than one in a row since all you really get is cherry and it gets old after a bit.

This is their Golden Boy with roasted coffee and cherries. Look is Amber in color. Nose is roasted coffee. Taste is coffee with a bit of sweetness on the back end. Good carbonation. I prefer this to the original. Would like more cherry flavor though. Nice job.
