Within an Antiek snifter, one finds a cloudy old copper with fine columns of carbonation. The short lived shallow beige head leaves delicate rings of lace.
Fruity whisky soaked figs fill the nose immediately upon pouring. Great expectations fade quickly, leaving non-descript fruitiness to dominate.
The initial sip is overwhelmed by alcohol, allowing ginger to take center stage later. Berries also come out, perhaps blueberries middle to end. Bourbon is surprisingly subtle given the aroma. A short lived modest finish leaves no significant impression. Generally speaking, the beer is well balanced.
Medium body and satin texture allows the alcohol to be above expectations. The alcohol is sharp yet not hot. Fine piercing carbonation occupies the palate for a few moments after each sip.
As my first beer out on the deck this year, this is enjoyable. I finished the bomber with earthy chicken stew over rice.

On tap at the release. Awesome purple, haziness. Smell is ginger and some sweetness from the boysenberries. Big on the wheat wine flavor with mild boysenberry flavor and spice from the ginger. Not getting much bourbon, though. Decent
