Notes / Commercial Description:
This higher alcohol version of our Smoked Amber Ale was aged in oak barrels, lending an oaky and vanilla flavor to the Cherry Wood Smoked and nutty maltiness of a beer we call Southern BBQ in a glass. Enjoy this handcrafted ale alone or with a hearty meal. Compliments any smoked dish, or pair it with steak, fish or BBQ.

Pours into a becker a muddled amber/brown with a half finger lighter tan colored head atop.Alot of caramel and brown sugar in the nose with only faint smoke, some sweet alcohol is noticable as well.Big malty and sweet on the palate with that caramel and brown suger being the main flavor components, the smoke is pretty light and mainly only in the finish,it has a cake-like element to it.Not bad but it's not big on the smoke and the 35 IBU's it has doesn't really come into play in my opinon although I think it would be a decent night cap with a cigar.

22oz bottled poured into a globe.

A- Burnt amber color, almost brown, fast white head thats about a finger tall. Nice retention, carbonation is somewhat active.

S- Smoked malts, burnt sugar, oak roast, molasses and honey.

T- Sweet malt with a smooth smoke finish. Some oak from the barrel. Has a real smooth quality within the flavors.

M- Smooth. Soft carbonation, no sign of ABV, smoke is light and not like drinking liquid smoke.

O- Another great beer from Triple C's barrel program. I feel bourbon barrels would have done this wonders but needless its still a great beer.

Draft at Macs Steele Creek. A quite cloudy brown/amber pour, thin layer of white head. Laced just a bit.

Aroma, some toasted malt and toffee. Herbally hop and tea notes.

Taste, a bigger version of the regular. More roast, anise and hop notes than the regular though. Toffee malt, some woody smoke accenting. Anise and slightly piney bite tithe finish.

Solidly in the middle body wise. Coats pretty well, with a nice level of carbonation.
Seems like this is more balanced than the regular. I prefer the regular, but I think most would prefer this.
