Bought two cans from Beer Drop. Just got my third delivery. A great service during the pandemic and beyond. But in this delivery had a few of the 20+ cans dented badly and this was one of them. So my initialed review uses some imagination for how Spring Glade performs when it has been under full pressure and my edited review is the second can.
Spring Glade Looks different with its a pretty ruby/rose' body (and not much excitement, i.e. foam.) The malt medley plays a nice aromatic melody underneath the cherry solo (which is prominent.) Yet, I'm Tasting a well-balanced saison, but barely as the sweet cherries are somehow made semi-dry. At only 20 IBU, the hops cannot overpower; so the balance is a mystery to me. While less than medium-mouthed, Spring Glade Feel delicate in its semi-dry finish.
I had the second can on another hot instead with food as I intended. Even the damaged first can was refreshing on a hot day. The second can makes me want to try more from Loveland.
As for my micro-review of Loveland Aleworks... I remain fascinated by Colorado's Front Range. Its beauty is matched only by dedication to craft brewing. One estimate is that of the 400+ micros in Colorado, over 60% are in the Front Range and Denver dominates. So it is for Loveland. The competition is steep, but they are over seven years into finding their niche and I hope they make it in brewing Paradise. I will try another saison as the base brew of Spring Glade showed promise.
8/8/21 Ive edited the above and I'm keeping count @ Untappd.
