Poured from the tap into a pint glass. Not the best glassware to have this beer but it will be forgiven since I was able to savor a nice tall glass of this beer.

The color is a slightly cloudy orange with two fingers of foamy white head and some nice lacing on the glass.

The smell is fruity with some nice banana and fig aroma that is so pleasing after a nice meal. There is some malty sweetness and a little bit of Belgian yeast aroma letting that character out.

The taste is fruity like the nose with more of the banana coming out and some nice pear flavor partnering itself well. There is some nice malt flavor with some nice yeast flavor that finishes off this beer and is mellow at the end when you half expect a bitter twang.

The feel of this beer is smooth and a bit sweet. Like a pillow it is soothing and is just soft enough that I was able to have a pair of tall glasses of this and not have to worry about being too effected. This is fantastic for a session beer

A-hazy gold body and a nice cap of a white head.

m-medium.

d- kind of reminds me of a hefeweizen with Belgian yeast. Better representations of the style out there. Okay though.

my favorite beer of a number sampled at the salem beer works.

served a little too cold, so aroma is minimal. taste however is both tangy and spicy taste with some nice flavorful hops. light, crispness makes this very sessionable.

it is worth noting that i think having a farmhouse ale is a great idea for a winter seasonal!

Another beer I had while I was in Boston this past weekend.

Pours a cloudy orange color with a decent head and lacing.

Smell has a good spiciness to it, along with a strong yeasty presence.

Taste was a bit underwhelming, good carbonation tickles the tongue but the flavors seem a bit muted, the yeast is quite evident, overall I was a bit disappointed in the taste, way too soft on the palate.

A: Unfiltered orange. Beige foam, looked a bit soapy. Lacing is thin, but goes all the way around the glass.

S: Sweet, hint of citrus. Slightly malty. Floral notes.

T: Very traditional saison. Slight hops in back of throat. Wheat-ish, alsmost like a hefeweizen. A bit of the citrus again. A little honey.

M: Chew, but light.

D: Easily drinkable, refreshing.

On tap @ BBW (Garden) - poured into tulip-style glass.

Looks clean and clear for the style. Caramel/apple cider color. Tight, thin head.

Aroma heavy on banana ester with light spice notes - overall quite pleasant.

Spice comes out and is accented by the tangyness - at first slight metallic aftertaste but this clears up as it warms in the glass. Slightly sour but enjoyable. Mild sweet alcohol presence.

Crisp, light mouthfeel yet strong enough to be soothing.

The tart and pucker of this offering is a positive in making this a very drinkable offering - maybe not for a session beer but quite enjoyable for 1 or 2 nonetheless.

A- Poured a light golden color with a cloudy hazy body and almost no head to speak of. White lacing was present and very sticky.

S- Flowers and some Belgian Spices. Bits of fruit that I cannot identify. Pears? Very inviting.

T- Very fruity taste, with bits of apple or pears and some more of the previously mentioned spices. Very good.

M- Light bodies, smooth and creamy.

D- Very easy to drink and makes me wish I had another.

the beer came to my table in a tulip snifter, shining hazy orange with some tight foam up top. lacing is minimal

the aroma is spicy and yeasty...more malt than i would have expected. the meu cites that the aroma is "complex"...hmmm

the hop presence is minimal, though bitterness grows with repetitions. apparent in the flavor, along with spices. the finish is tart—almost bretty

it's a touch thicker than most saisons

Was introduced to a new season with this one on 6/28/2007. 12-oz. goblet pour at the Canal St. location.

On the menu, "A Saison-style Belgian ale with a hazy orange color, complex aroma and a refreshingly mild spiciness." Starts with a 1/2-inch fluff of Br'er Rabbit stuff, settling and lacing with some finery. Muddy orange and amber hue, almost cidery in appearance, and difficult to make out what if anything is going on behind its protective shield. Lots of floral essences on the nose - chamomille, lavender, rose, and apple blossoms all coalesce and spin out through the cranium. On the tongue, a pink cotton candy sweetness hits first, almost overwhelming, but a light dose of white pepper evens things out a bit, along with some dry breadiness. Fairly drinkable, although as it warms some of the bread becomes more pronounced.

Good enough. Another one-off from Beer Works that I would order again with little reservation.
