Poured on-tap at Canal Street, and served in a pint glass. Dark, cloudy ruby-red color, with a thick, half-inch biege head that is foamy and dense. Rich caramel nose, with a touch of chocolate. The flavor is caramel sweet and dark chocolate bitter, with good hopping to balance, and a slight peppering at the end. The aftertaste is tangy and bitter/astringent, with a dry, yet cloying finish. The beer coats the glass as you drink. Not one of my favorite brews, but an interesting interpretation.
