Taster at brewery. Medium amber pour, small off-white head, lacing. Toasty, malty, caramel in the aroma and taste, toasted brown bread. Creamy feel, super smooth.

The beer pours out a crystal clear dark golden amber color, with 1 finger of off white head----------------- the aromas are of toasted malts, earthy hops and some light citrus-------------- the flavors are of toasted malts, earthy/pine, breadiness, Carmel and spice, the beer has a thin mouthfeel with a moderate earthy bitterness on the finish---------------- overall for the style this beer was awesome, it has a big malt backbone that is not to sweet, with a good amount of hops to balance the whole thing out

I'm gonna give this beer some serious props. It was really enjoyable. As a fan of Anchor Steam, I do appreciate breweries that delve into this esoteric category of beers (at least outside of Germany that is).
The malt is, in my humble opinion, perfectly roasted. Not sweet and caramelly but robust and hearty. The smell comes across the same. Flavor is well balanced. Big malt notes, not overly sweet. Nice heaviness on the body. Still plenty of effervescence. A pretty big amber beer but extremely enjoyable. Almost crushable. Would drink again and again.

A very respectable brew for this style. Sampled on tap at the Westbrae Biermarket. A light Amber with a persistent whitish head. Smells and tastes on the sweet side - Crystal malt with hints of brown sugar. The finish is a bit underwhelming, but doesn't ruin the overall experience.
