Taster at 2 Tread taproom. Dark brown, some light coming through, thick fluffy head. Light roasty aroma. Taste too features the roast grains, but seems light. In the ballpark, but could use a boost.

Dark blackish brown in the pint glass with plenty of foam. Some burnt notes among the malty, roasted flavors. Pleasantly sweet on the lips. Not as dry as the typical Schwartz, and more full bodied. I like it.
A faint tart edge after the malt. Pleasant grainy aroma. Something like oats with just a touch of chocolate. Just slightly bitter aftertaste. Extremely mellow and drinkable. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Healthy Spirits in San Francisco.
