Poured from a 16 oz can into a New Belgium Globe Glass
Can dated 11/27/24
The beer pours jet black with about 2 fingers worth of tan/khaki foamy head that quickly recedes leaving behind very little lacing.
The aroma is interesting, similar to the base beer (Brunch Junkie) but something is a little off about it, almost perfumy. Roasted malts and coffee are dominant, with notes of chocolate and caramel. I get some of the coconut, but it seems artificial.
The flavor is a bit better than the aroma; dark roasted coffee, roasted malts, and a much better showing of coconut. The chocolate is very complimentary to the coconut, giving off an Almond Joy/Mounds feel. The bitterness from the coffee/roasted malts is not quite as compilatory, and takes away from the overall experience. Medium/Full bodied and moderately carbonated, the beer is slick on the tongue with a velvety mouthfeel.
Overall, this is not bad, but it seems to miss the mark a bit. I much prefer the base beer without the coconut.

Appearance - Pours deep mahogany brown with nice off white head that settles to a thin rocky film.
Aroma - Sucks but I am not getting much coconut, lots of coffee, little peanut butter?? chocolate some toffee and caramel. Overall black coffee with a light sweetness.
Taste - Taste I am getting a little more coconut but the flavors are really washed out. Light chocolate, some toffee, caramel, light vanilla. Pretty sweet sort of like a water down almond joy.
Feel - Just way too thin to be an oatmeal stout, nice dry finish just thin .
Overall - The nose has great coffee the low ABV makes it easy drinking and the flavors are nice just thin and no coconut.
