Did you get the Memo – Hazy Double India Pale Ale – Heist Brewery, Charlotte, NC
This hazy double IPA is a collaboration with Burnish Beer Company from Salisbury, Maryland. Did you get the memo is brewed and double dry hopped with Amarillo, Lemon Candy Amarillo, Motueka, and Lemon Drop hops. I have been a little under the weather, so this is exactly what I need to get me through the rest of the work week. Overall, I have been relatively disappointed by this brew. This beer is 8.6% alcohol by volume, but remains rather dry and light bodied. The alcohol content still keeps this one at a decent score for me however. I will give the Did you Get the Memo a 7.7, and Beer Advocate gives this one an 8.1 with only three reviews.

A: Pours a hazy murky medium golden honey in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and moderate medium bright yellow + medium golden yellow + burnt orange colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy foamy light beige head that slowly reduces to a couple of small to medium sized patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of slightly mottled very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy citrus/lemon, citrus/grapefruit, citrus/lemon zest, and herbal hops over the top of moderate aromas of biscuit + caramel + toasted + honey malts with moderate amounts of caramel + honey sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of biscuit + caramel + toasted + honey malts with moderate amounts of caramel + honey sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy citrus/lemon, citrus/grapefruit, citrus/lemon zest, and herbal hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which slowly fades away leaving some lingering citrus hop flavors.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Moderate amounts of creamy soft/fluffiness mid-body and a hint of dryness in the finish. Hint of alcohol warming.
O: Easy to drink with fairly well hidden alcohol (especially from the flavor and aroma). Enjoyable with lots of citrus + lemon aromas and flavors. Softer/creamier mouthfeel but the malty sweetness I would expect from a bigger more old school DIPA.

Gifted a can by Dan. Really enjoyed. Super smooth and creamy. Can conditioned Hazy DIPA. Haze is yellow with a bit of murkiness from yeast. Pour carefully. Amarillo and Moteuka provided moderate dank quality aside the promised lemon. Super easy sipper. No obvious abv despite almost 9%. Seemed like a very good more mid eastern IPA @ Ohio/Michigan.
Great Collab. Would love another.
