L: Poured from a tallboy can to a pint glass. Had a yellowish color and a very hazy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Fantastic lacing.

S: A good, but not brilliant, aroma of hops, citrus fruit, coconut, tropical fruit, and malt.

T: Tasted of a tinge of coconut, a fair amount of citrus fruit (orange, especially), a pervasive bready / grainy quality (not appealing) a good shot of hops (the dominant ingredient, but not overpowering), light malt (mostly in the finish), and some tropical fruit (pineapple). An uneven flavor, but it has its good spots.

F: A well-carbonated beer with a sharp finish. Medium-bodied.

O: In general, this beer has its good qualities, but it's definitely uneven. Nonetheless, worth a look.

Existence From a Distance from Heist Brewery. Received 10/8/20 from @nc41 in BIF 12. Reviewed 10/19/20.
16 oz can stamped on bottom rim “08/21/20 THE NEW NORMAL”. Stored at home at 42 degrees and served at 45 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 55 degrees.
Appearance – 4.25.
First pour – Pale straw (SRM 2), hazy and opaque.
Body – Pale straw (SRM 2), murky and opaque. When held to direct light, same.
Head – Large (Maximum 6.5 cm, aggressive center pour), white, medium density, average retention, diminishing to an eight to ten mm undulating crown with prominences and islands of foam remaining on the glass. The cap is thick, rocky, and partial. Second pour produces a tight 2.5 cm head.
Lacing – Good. Wide bands of tiny to medium bubbles with a few stalactites and short columns. See also above.
Aroma – 3.5 – Weak tropical fruit and herbs, refreshing. No malt, no yeast.
Flavor – 4.25 – Taste follows nose with the herbal freshness predominating. Just enough vegetal bitterness to notice. No malt, no yeast. No alcohol (6.1 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 4 – Medium, watery, soft but lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4 Very drinkable NEIPA, more herbal than fruity. This one goes down quickly.

A: Pours a murky pale to medium golden honey in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate pale orange + peach + apricot + pale yellow + pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a four finger tall dense creamy sudsy foamy white head that slowly reduces to a medium sized patch of thick film surrounded by a large patch of very slightly mottled thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy tropical/pineapple + citrus/grapefruit + citrus/orange + coconut hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + pale + oat + wheat malts with a light amount of sugary sweetness.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + pale + oat + wheat malts with a light amount of sugary sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy tropical/pineapple + citrus/grapefruit + citrus/orange + coconut hops which impart a very light amount of bitterness which fades away fairly quickly leaving lingering tropical + coconut hop flavors.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Initially very slightly crisp with a moderate amount of creamy soft/fluffiness mid-body and a light amount of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly creamy soft/fluffy mouthfeel. Enjoyable and really does a nice job of highlighting the tropical + coconut Sabro hop flavors and aromas.
