Imperial stout brewed with a hefty amount of roasted malts. Conditioned atop in-house made cold brew espresso roast, maple syrup, and cinnamon chips.

Picked up a 16 oz can from the Appalachian Vintner shelves 2-1-23 for $5.77. No canning date but presumably in the fall 2022 based on a current release a friend had bought. Reviewed 1-3-2024. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured reddish dark brown with a nice tan head.
Nose is faint coffee, a hint of maple, and cinnamon.
Taste is a light but substantial malt base that is most dominated by cinnamon with hints of coffee and maple. Finishes hopped enough to be balanced.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and not overly smooth.
Overall i suspect i waited too long to have this one. Heist is hit or miss on dating their cans so it is hard to trust the freshness at times unless the store has intimate knowledge which Appalachian Vintner seems to be on top of. I will have to try again, perhaps next fall.
