Our Baltic porter spent time in two separate Old Forester 1910 barrels before being blended together to create a chocolate forward beverage with notes of oak and dark fruits.

375ml bottle courtesy of @jzeilinger
Poured into a La Fin du Monde tulip
My first non-IPA offering from Heist, I believe..
P deep mahogany/black w/ a small foamy tan head; no lace
N med-bold nuttiness, booze, barrel, and a touch of dark fruit
T dark fruit and vanilla forward, with a smooth light roast, light nuttiness and barrel in the finish; light-med heat and a touch of tartness; grape-like/brandy aftertaste
Mf light-med bodied w/ med carb; could use a bit more body imo, but makes for good drinkability for the style
O different than anticipated, but not bad by any means; was hoping for a bolder profile and heftier mouthfeel, but it was made up for in drinkability; thanks again, J!

Bottled on: ?????
A - Black pour with a dense, soapy, toffee colored lacing ring and ALOT of legs / viscosity on the sides of the glass.
S - Toasted cocoa with a very faint shot of Bourbon (very faint).
T - Toasted cocoa, Bourbon, some oak barrel, oak tannin, vanilla, and ends on the boozier side with some residual toasted cocoa, light bitterness, and followed with more Bourbon presence.
M - Viscous and oily with some pronounced warming in the throat.
O - This is really a fantastic beer and so glad for this find! (Unfortunately the new BA rating scale grossly undermines the overall score based on the number of reviews. Sad.)

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
