This beer was brewed with some of the finest ingredients in the world including cacao nibs from Equador and Ghana and Indonesian civet coffee. Civet coffee or "kopi luwak" is one of the rarest and most exquisite coffees in the world. We used only wild harvested civet coffee. Full bodied with exquisitre mild chocolate flavors and exotic coffee notes, we hope you enjoy our Imperial version of our Hotbox brown ale.

Had on draft at the brewery. Looks great in the glass. Dark but not stout-dark. Nice to see some residual tan foam that lingered on the surface and the glass. The sweet coffee nose of this hits you from across the room and will be one you remember...Taste follows the nose exactly. This is what you wish your morning coffee tasted like. That same smooth, sweet coffee flavor you could smell is here in spades. Coffee, coconut(?), raisinettes. Top-shelf quality cacao nibs is the flavor that lingers on the tongue. Only thing I would wish for is a bigger mouthfeel. Slightly thin but I'm not sure that is even a negative here. I am obsessive over beer and coffee and have tried for years to find the perfect combination of the two. This is hands down the best coffee beer I've ever had.

The bartender told me this was formerly called Kona Brown I believe but I find that confusing because the ratings on that beer aren't that stellar and this uses Kopi instead of Kona coffee. However, this beer was absolutely great with tons of awesome coffee flavor. I by nature assume Kopi Lowak is overrated but this is one of the best straight coffee beers I've ever had so maybe animal poop is tastier than I thought.
