Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 12 fl oz can on January 8, 2019. This New England style IPA is made with lactose sugar and fresh strawberries to create a decent sorbet style beer.

Nothing like what I thought. definitely not an NE IPA of any kind I know. Man, this is a funky one. Smells and tastes of rotten fruit. Thought it would have a juicier thicker mouthfeel. Fresh hop taste is missing. Just plain nasty. Maybe it's old? No date on the can. Maybe it was stored improperly? Bought it from a high-end grocery store. Stay away, folks. I may try to take the other 5 back to the store. Don't even want to save one for my buddies because it tastes and smells of b-hole. Not sure how any one can give this more than a "2" rating.

Released 10/25/18; drank 12/12/18 @ the Yarchives.
Pink/red appearance.
A violent pour yielded a big white/pink head; thick, frothy lace.
Fruit Stripe gum & wheat notes in the nose.
Sticky medium mouthfeel.
Fruit Stripe gum flavor; some faint wheat dryness on the finish.
SUPER sweet. If you're a Fruit Stripe gum fanatic and an alcoholic, this is for you. Otherwise...a bit too much.

12 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but was just released. Pours moderate hazy/cloudy medium orange/amber/light reddish color, with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy strawberries, fruit skin/seeds, grapefruit, mandarin orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of strawberries, citrus/fruity/tropical/light earthy hops, lactose, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy strawberries, fruit skin/seeds, grapefruit, mandarin orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy strawberries, fruit skin/seeds, grapefruit, mandarin orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, light peppercorn/pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of strawberries, citrus/fruity/tropical/light earthy hops, lactose, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and tart/tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly acidic/tangy mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.3%. Overall this is an excellent fruited milkshake IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of strawberries, citrus/fruity/tropical/light earthy hops, lactose, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/tart/drying finish. Nice soft feel. Might be Citra/Simcoe. Very juicy balanced hops/fruit, with some dank/earthy notes; nice lactose and wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.
