12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 1/18/2019. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy reddish orange/copper color with a 1 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big carrots, pineapple, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, cream, cake batter, brown bread, nuts, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/bready malts, carrot, pineapple, lactose, spices, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big carrots, pineapple, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, cream, cake batter, brown bread, nuts, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; and cinnamon/nutmeg spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of carrots, pineapple, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, cream, cake batter, brown bread, nuts, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malts, carrot, pineapple, lactose, spices, and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 5.8%. Overall this is an excellent flavored cream ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malts, carrot, pineapple, lactose, spices, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, easy, and pretty refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Awesome balance of rich malts, lactose, carrot, pineapple, and spices; with solid earthy hops against sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made experimental style example. Tastes exactly like carrot cake all the way through!
