Pours an effervescent chestnut/mahogany with one finger of mocha colored head. Viscous, some head retention & zero lacing

S: Vanilla, caramel, faint cola notes, a little barrel; wanted more

T: Bourbon barrel, toasted & sweet coconut, vanilla up front, hints of Maple Candy. Definitely getting the Vietnamese Coffee flavor once warmed up, with plenty of hearty Bourbon mixed in. Finishes sweet, dry with loads of sweet coffee & goodly amount of Bourbon

MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation, warming booze. I expected more body, I'm getting a little coconut bits texture. Certainly sticking to the teeth

If everything measured up to the flavor, this would be a stellar beer. Still damn good & drinks easy for the heft

Pours dark as ink with a tan bubbly head. Nose is fully coconut. Taste is also full on coconut that fades to a warmth from ABV. Softened coconut and chocolate across back of palate.

This is a very good high- gravity beer, and is properly classified as an Imperial Porter; to the mouth feel is too light for a stout. The coconut is pronounced, but not overly so, and comes through appropriately well in the nose and the taste, and provides a well balanced contribution throughout the 10oz portion I enjoyed on tap. Unlike many, this maintained a great balance and presence of coconut sweetness and hop bitterness down to the last drop, which is not common among such high alcohol beers. Good job, Mr. Brewer!!
